Today's customer was very pleased to have me out to re-stretch the problem areas in her condo. After a few hours of working with furniture involved, I was able to get everything nice and tight and wrinkle-free.

Carpet Re-Stretching & Repair

Today's job was re-stretching carpet in Antelope CA in a living room area and short hallway that had some pretty bad carpet wrinkles forming in the room. Most of the furniture was moved before the appointment which made the job easier to do, but the extra hallway section created a small challenge.

Instead of cutting a seam where the living room and hallway met, I was able to pull the carpet up and stretch both the living room and hallway to the end treating it as one piece.

Frayed Carpet To Flooring Transition Repair

Today's job was a smaller job fixing an area of carpet that met other flooring and had started to fray at the edge leaving the tack strip exposed. My client thought I was going to have to patch another piece in to fix the area but I was able to power stretch the carpet over to close the gap and get this area fixed.

Stretching the carpet to fix this type of damage is always the best option because patching in a new piece will usually be noticeable since these are in transition areas of a home that typically get a lot of foot traffic.

Pet Hamster Damaged The Carpet

I've repaired a lot of carpet at doorways where cats or dogs have ripped or chewed the carpet but this time it was the pet hamster who wanted out. I was able to use spare carpet the homeowner had left over to replace the damaged section of carpet and glue the carpet together to make a permanent repair.

There will be a noticeable difference since there is a new piece getting put in the middle of a high-traffic area but over time the carpet will blend together.

My Dog Chewed My Carpet!

Is something we hear quite often on our calls. or cats using carpet as their personal scratch post.

Most of the time their is carpet left over from the installation that can be used to do a 'carpet patch'. A carpet patch is where we use a spare piece of carpet to replace the damaged area. The carpet is glued together underneath just like a new carpet installation so you don't have to worry about it coming apart.

If there is no extra carpet available we take a piece out from a closet. Then we install a different piece in the closet and can get a fairly close match.
