If the damage isn't very large and the carpet has flexibility in it still, most of the time it can be power-stretched to cover the damaged area and complete the repair.

This is a much better option instead of patching the carpet, especially if the carpet is old and worn out, which will make for a visible patched area.

Today's job was in Granite Bay replacing a damaged section of carpet where a plant had leaked water over time and stained the carpet in this room. There was plenty of leftover carpet to do the repair, so I was able to cut out the damaged section of the carpet and replace the area with a remnant. It blended well but will still need time for it to fully blend with the rest of the carpet in the room.
