Carpet Wrinkle Removal In El Dorado Hills CA

This job was taking care of carpet wrinkles in the Serrano neighborhood in El Dorado Hills CA.

This carpet is about 10 years old and definitely needed to be re-stretched throughout the home. The pictures shown are from one of the living rooms downstairs and an office upstairs, but I also stretched the carpet in their hallway section and a few other areas in the home.

Stretching Carpet Before Moving In

If you just bought a new home and noticed the previous homeowners did not have the carpet stretched, I highly recommend taking the time to have the carpets professionally restretched and repaired before moving in furniture.

This will make the stretching process much more efficient and will save you money. While carpet restretching can be done with furniture in a home, empty rooms are easier to handle.

At this job in El Dorado Hills the client moved all the furniture before our appointment to make the carpet stretching easier and cheaper.

While not all the furniture needs to be moved out of the room, having the furniture out will make the work easier and can make a big difference in the final cost of the work.

Re-Stretching Carpet After Cleaning

At this job we re-stretched carpet in a master bedroom after ripples started forming after cleaning the carpet. The master bedroom did have furniture but we were able to use furniture sliders to re-stretch the problem areas.

This client was getting their home ready to list for sale so the carpet definitely needed to be fixed beofre listing. We also stretched the stairs where there were a few areas starting to buckle and form waves.

Replacing Carpet & Getting This Home Ready To Sell

This client had a living room area in their home that needed the carpet replaced because there were very dark traffic areas. The rest of the carpet in the home was in acceptable condition and only needed to be steam cleaned which I did after replacing this living room.

I was also able to use some of the good carpet from this room to do a few repairs in other rooms of the home where there were stained areas and damaged spots in the carpet.

By replacing the living room carpet and using it to repair other areas I was able to save this client thousands of dollars instead of replacing all the carpeted areas in the home.

Carpet Stretching Rooms With Furniture

At this job we re-stretched and cleaned a master bedroom, guest bedroom and master bedroom closet. The master bedroom and guest bedroom both had beds and dressers, so we had to use furniture sliders to re-stretch both areas.

Most of the time we are able to move furniture around a room so we can re-stretch the carpet without moving everything out. This is an additional charge as it takes more time and effort from us.

Why Does Carpet Get Loose Upstairs?

Most of the jobs we get called out to re-stretch are upstairs, just like you see in the pictures here. This is because when heat rises in a home, it goes through the plywood subloor directly to the back of the carpet, warming up the carpet. The carpet then expands when it gets warm, and with nowhere to move to, it will reach the walls and start to peak or wrinkle throughout the rooms.

This room was directly above the kitchen, so all the heat from cooking rose up and hit this room the hardest. You will also notice this in rooms that are directly above the garage.

Because the carpet was creased for so long, the marks will still be visible after stretching the carpet, but over time will go away.

This customer had extra carpet to do this repair, so this job took about an hour and a half to do, because we also re-stretched their master bedroom.

Here is a job where we replaced the carpet in a living room for a home owner getting their home ready to sell. We then used some of the living room carpet to patch and repair this mystery spot in one of the bedrooms. After repairing the areas, we then steam cleaned the rest of the carpet.
