Carpet Re-Stretching in Carmichael CA

Today's job was re-stretching a master bedroom with a short hallway attached to it and then
cleaning the carpets in the master bedroom and an office
for a new client who found me on Google.

The master bedroom did have furniture but the way the room layout was
made it easier to stretch towards one wall and get the job done
without having to move most of the furniture out of the room.

This carpet was 11 years old and was still in great condition,
it just needed a good stretch and then a deep clean steam cleaning
afterward to get it back in top condition.

Replacing Carpet & Padding
Saturated With Pet Urine

Today's job was a large carpet patch repair
where I replaced a large section of carpet
and padding along the corner wall of
this master bedroom in Carmichael CA.

My client had flooring installed in the main
areas of their home and had plenty of carpet
that was still in great condition to be
used in other areas of their home.
They had a few areas in their master bedroom where
their dogs continuously used the bathroom and had
become soaked with urine damaging the carpet,
padding, and tack strips.

My client cut out the damaged areas of the carpet
and padding, removed the urine-soaked tack strips,
and sealed the subfloor with KILZ primer
to get rid of any urine odor before installing
the new carpet and padding.

I had to join two pieces of carpet to make
a patch large enough to cover the area
but I was able to join all the areas together and
complete this repair so they didn't need to replace
all the carpet and padding in the room.
This was able to save my client over $1,000 and keep
more carpet and padding out of the landfill.

Before tearing out carpet and padding that may still
be in good condition, consider carpet repairs
as they may be a better alternative.

Stretching Carpet In A Hallway Takes A Professional

This client had their carpet re-stretched in the past but it looks like the wrinkles
came back in their main hallway area and needed to be repaired again.
Hallways can be more difficult and require an experienced professional
in order to stretch the carpet correctly and keep it tight.
This carpet is 18 years old but is still in great condition so I was able
to cut a seam at a doorway and power stretch the hallway over to complete this repair.

Replacing Bleach Damaged Carpet

2-3-2021
This client spilled bleach on their carpet
and needed the area replaced with some leftover
carpet they had from the installation.
They tried to dye the damage with no luck
so I was called out to cut and replace
the damaged area to finish the repair.

Repairing Carpet In Small Offices

This repair was for the offices at the
Carmichael Water District in one of the
rooms where they held their conferences.
They had installed new wires for their
equipment and needed the carpet repaired
where they cut the carpet for the wires.

They had extra carpet so we were able to cut
5 areas in the room and replace with that carpet.

Stay Away From Polyester Carpet

Polyester carpet is a very popular type of fiber
that is installed in most homes now,
but consumers are left out on one secret
they are not told when they buy this carpet.

In a short amount of time this carpet will
wear down and crush with foot traffic,
causing the carpet fiber to change and lose
color making it look dark and dingy.

Repairing Carpet To Tile Transitions

Most pet damaged carpet happens
where the carpet is seamed together
or where carpet meets other flooring.
In this condo in Carmichael
the carpet was frayed near tile
but was in a hallway section so the carpet
could not be re-stretched to fix this area.

Instead we took a small piece from a closet
and patched the damaged area.
The carpet was in good condition,
so the repair turned out invisible.
Then we stretched the carpet back
onto the tack strip
and tucked the carpet to the tile.
