Today's job was for a client who had a moisture issue in the corner of one of his bedrooms where new carpet was installed a few months ago. The new carpet was stained as you can see in the picture and he wanted to see if I could replace the damaged area of the carpet with the spare carpet he had left over from the original installation.

I was able to cut out the damaged area and replace this small section of the carpet to remove the damaged area of the carpet.

This job was done in the American River Canyon North neighborhood.

Carpet Re-Stretching & Low-Moisture Carpet Cleaning

The carpets had wrinkles throughout the home and spots/stains that needed to be cleaned, but were still in good condition and didn't need to be replaced. I was able to re-stretch all carpets in the rooms using a power stretcher to repair all the areas and remove the wrinkles.

Then I followed up with a low-moisture carpet cleaning to get the best results with this type of carpet. This is a Cut-Loop style carpet with a pattern so using a low-moisture cleaning method is the best choice to prevent any spots from wicking back up.

Pet Damaged Carpet Repair

Today's job was replacing a small damaged section of carpet at a doorway where the homeowner's pet damaged the carpet.

I was able to take a small piece from a spare closet to do the repair which was in a better condition than the existing carpet but with time and foot traffic the repair will blend much better.

Wrinkles Starting To Show In Carpet

Today's job was a smaller carpet re-stretching job over in the Folsom area for a homeowner who had a few areas throughout their home that were starting to develop wrinkles in the carpet.

They caught this early on so the wrinkles were not extreme, but they were still an eyesore for the homeowner and needed to be fixed.

I was able to move a few pieces of furniture around in the rooms and get all the problem areas re-stretched to get this carpet tight and flat.

This job was for a new homeowner who just purchased this home in Folsom CA and was in the process of moving in. They needed the carpet stretched and cleaned before moving in their furniture and this was definitely the best time to do so.

Most of the wrinkles in the carpet were in the hallway section upstairs connecting 4 bedrooms and the master bedroom area. Hallways are more difficult to stretch because of all the different connections to other areas.

I was able to cut the carpet in the middle of the hallway and stretch both areas together to completely get rid of all the areas with wrinkles. Then glue back the carpet just like when it was first installed completing the repair.

After everything was fixed I steam cleaned all the areas upstairs and the stairs so the carpet in this home would be refreshed for the new homeowner.

Stretching Wrinkled Carpet In A Mobile Home

Here are a few before and after pictures showing a carpet stretching job I did today in a mobile home in the Lakeside Village Community in Folsom. This carpet was only 5 years old and the homeowner was really upset that it was wrinkled throughout the home. I had to stretch the main living room area and dining room area and hallway section of the home in order to remove all the wrinkles that were present throughout the home.

Everything took about 2 hours and now this carpet is flat and tight and is no longer a tripping hazard for the client.

Repairing Carpet After A Home Remodel

Here are some before and after pictures of a larger carpet repair job I did today in Folsom. This homeowner just did a remodel and needed the carpet on their stairs trimmed and tucked back into place to get it looking great.

They added an edge on the stairway so the carpet and padding were too long and needed to be cut back to fit. Also, new tack strips needed to be added on the side for the carpet to be able to be tucked to the edge. After repairing all the steps I steam cleaned the carpet in a few areas upstairs and these areas.

Today's job was stretching a few bedrooms in Pinebrook Village, an Active Senior Community in Folsom.

This home was getting ready to rent and had some severe carpet wrinkles in the bedrooms that needed to be stretched out. I was also going to clean the carpet but the homeowner decided to take care of that themselves since there were only a few bedrooms to clean.

Small Pet Damaged Carpet Areas Across Your Home

This job was where a mischievous puppy got to the carpet in a couple areas in this home. Depending on where the carpet needs to be patched, the repair will be more or less noticeable because the surrounding carpet will be worn out over the years.

This carpet is about 3 years old, but because it's a Polyester fiber it does get damaged sooner and will lose it's shiny color it first had. Patching Carpet In
After A Water Damage

This was a job we were called out to do near Farmhaus restaurant on the border of Folsom & Granite Bay. This client had a water damage in one of the bedrooms and could not save the carpet, so the padding and carpet had to be changed.

They also needed a master bedroom closet carpet installed, so we lay in new tackstrip, installed padding and glued a few pieces of carpet together to finish this job.

Here are a few examples of carpet re-stretching and what to expect when having your carpet re-stretched. If carpet has been loose for a while it will sometimes be creased, so when the carpet is stretched, the marks will still be visible where the carpet had major wrinkles. This all depends on the type of carpet, if the carpet has bubbled only, or if the carpet has been really bent for a long period of time.

Imagine crumpling up a piece of paper for a long time, and then flattening it out. There will still be noticable marks where the paper has been bent for so long.

Over time these marks will disappear once the carpet has been walked on, vacuumed or cleaned, and gotten used to being flat.

Repairing Damaged Carpet Transitions To Tile & Other Flooring

Where carpet meets other types of flooring, usually transition strips are installed to help keep the carpet in place and protect the edge. When carpet is installed to tile flooring or hardwood, there is no transition strip as the carpet is tucked in a small gap inbetween the tack strip and flooring. A bead of seam sealer, or latex, is used to create a bond in that gap that seals that raw cut edge so it will not start to fray over time.

For other types of flooring, different metal transition strips are used that are nailed into the concrete slab or plywood sub floor, then the carpet is stretched to these strips and tucked in.

Repairing Carpet After Remodeling

This client had a wall removed and was selling her home, so she needed the carpet fixed in this area. For the best looking repair, we decided to removed the border of half tiles, and then proceed to patch in a new piece of carpet. After installing new tack strip, padding, and stretching the carpet to the tile, this repair looks like that's how the carpet was originally installed.

Berber Loop Pile Carpet Repairs

Berber can be extremely difficult to repair so pricing is usually higher for these jobs. This is what's called a loop-pile carpet and runs in rows kind of like a grid. Each row of carpet is one long continuous carpet fiber, so if you snag a loop, that carpet fiber will start to tear across the room becoming a huge problem.

Most of these will start to happen where carpet has been glued to other rooms of carpet. On this job we were able to patch the carpet at the master bedroom doorway to fix this.

There are mainly two types of carpet fibers produced for consumers these days. Nylon carpet and Polyester carpet. Nylon is what you will mostly see in older homes and has a great lifespan, making for a great investment if you're looking for carpet.
