Today's clients had a few areas upstairs in their Natomas home that needed the carpet re-stretched and fixed. The main areas that were noticeable were the hallway/loft area and one of the bedrooms.

I was able to get everything stretched and repaired in about an hour and my clients were pleased not to have wrinkled carpet throughout their upstairs.

This job was for a new client who had some damaged carpet on the landing area of their staircase where their dog chewed at the carpet and damaged it.

They had spare carpet so I was able to cut out the damaged area and replace the damaged section of carpet to fix the area. I also replaced another step they had with some damage.

When there is pet damage on the stairs I usually recommend replacing the entire step if possible since the carpet is usually worn and doing a patch repair on a heavy traffic area like the stairs usually isn't a good idea since the patch may fail over time.

Even though this carpet was worn a little on the landing area the new piece of carpet blended well and turned out to be a great repair for this homeowner.

Damaged Carpet To Tile Flooring

One job today was doing a few carpet repairs at some of the doorway entries in Natomas/Sacramento CA.

When the carpet was installed there was no seam sealer or latex applied where the carpet meets the tile flooring which caused it to start fraying over time. This homeowner had a dog who got a hold of it and damaged it even further.

Thankfully there was leftover carpet from the installation so I was able to patch and repair the damaged areas to fix everything. I also made sure to put latex where the carpet met the tile to help prevent this from happening again.

Stretching Carpet In A Bad Hallway In Natomas Crossing

This job was done in the Natomas Crossing community in a newer home built around 2006. A property management group needed the carpet stretched in the main hallway area and 2 of the bedrooms before getting this home ready to rent.

I was able to stretch the hallway section into both bedrooms and then stretch the bedrooms all without making seams in the carpet.

At this job I was called out to replace 2 damaged areas where a dog had ripped up the carpet at the doorway entrances. This was for a rental property and the homeowner was getting the home ready for another tenant.

They had spare carpet so I was able to cut out the damaged sections and replace the areas with the newer carpet. When doing carpet repairs like this, the repair will be more noticeable in heavy traffic areas like the area above that goes from carpet to tile. This is because a new piece is being replaced in an area with a lot of foot traffic and the carpet has already been worn down and no longer looks the same. While the repair will be noticeable it will look much better than the damage before and will start to blend better with foot traffic over time.

Today's job was stretching a very wrinkled hallway and a few bedrooms today near Peregrine Park in Natomas.

This job today was a small damaged area on a step from a cat scratching the carpet in Natomas CA. There was no extra carpet to patch the area so we did have to steal a small piece from a closet to finish this repair. With areas where the cat has scratched at the carpet, the areas surrounding the repair will be frayed so there will be a small noticeable difference where the repair was made. Overall this repair turned out great and the customer was very happy to have this area fixed.

Repairing Carpet To Tile Transitions

Most pet damaged carpet happens where the carpet is seamed together or where carpet meets other flooring. In this condo in Natomas the carpet was frayed near tile but was in a hallway section so the carpet could not be re-stretched to fix this area.
